Cold blooded. This particular phrase echoed in Elsie’s mind, she just couldn’t cry. She wanted to, badly, but she couldn’t. One simple reason: Tears wouldn’t flow out.

Elsie stopped crying since she was six. Crying, had been an act of weakness. She did not want to be considered as one, so she never cry since then. No matter how her brother bullied her, she just simply bit her lips and ignored everything. Then, accident happened. Her grandfather was sick and he was admin into the hospital. He told her that he was going to die soon, but she reassure him that he wouldn’t.

‘Elsie, remember, no matter how strong you act, we all know who are you and you can just let it out. It’s never good when you hide your emotions in your heart.’ That was the last sentence that her grandfather told her.

‘You’re so cold blooded. Everyone was crying and you are simply stoning here?’ Her mother blamed her, her father seemed to despise her and her brother would only make things worst during the wake of her grandfather.

Thinking about all these, Elsie reached an isolated place, where only the singing of birds could be heard. She lie down on the soft grass and closed her eyes. She was tired of all these, really. She only want to take a break from the noisy world and soon enough, she fell asleep. As she was in her dreamland, tears escaped from her eyes. Maybe, only when she was sleeping, she would allow herself to be vulnerable.
